Green Building & The LEED Green Building Rating System: Introduction & Overview

A LEED overview, including in-depth descriptions of the rating system and discussion of the advantages obtaining this certification may bring your project. [~1 hour]

How to Access The NMTC Program

This comprehensive tutorial provides an overview of the NMTC program and discusses ways to access it, including noting what investors are looking for in a project, how to get a CDE's attention, as well as the steps necessary to bring a project's financing to closing. A real-time example will be used to illustrate the process. A discussion forum will be available for questions and answers at the end of the workshop. [~1 hour]

Facility Planning 101

A successful project has many ingredients, most importantly a viable plan. Topics include how to perform a feasibility study, gain site control, develop a project team and identify financing options. [1 hour]

NMTC 101

A detailed introduction to the NMTC program and how to access it. This workshop will address the nuances of the NMTC program, investment types, eligible activities, structure diagrams, example transactions, as well as a discussion on how to apply for a NMTC allocation. [1.5 hours]

Financing 101

Developing or acquiring a new facility is a major, complex undertaking, potentially involving millions of dollars. This workshop will illustrate several financing alternatives and federal funding incentives that can accelerate the project development process at a reduced cost, including combining various tax incentives such as New Markets Tax Credits. This seminar covers a variety of topics on how to get your project funded with minimal out-of-pocket expenses to your agency. Areas to be addressed include low-interest loans, federal subsidies programs, grants and tax-exempt financing. [1.5 hours]
